Ana Urquilla (San Salvador, 1979) Bachelor in Fine Arts (2000) with a focus on low-fire ceramics, color photography, and art history from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Bachelor in Digital Photography (2004) from the University of New Mexico. Has had four solo exhibitions in El Salvador. Has shown collectively in Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador, United States, England, and Taiwan. Some of these shows include the Landings Program, Transcultura and Young Art at the Spanish Cultural Center (San Salvador 2007), V Central American Arts Biennial at the Art Museum of El Salvador (San Salvador 2006), and Three: Focus on the female body at Teorética (San Jose 2006). Her work is included in the collections of Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo de Costa Rica and Fundación Ortiz-Gurdián in Nicaragua. She works as an arts education consultant and a college art lecturer since 2005.
